Fu's pasta + baking fun

Last saturday, I thought we would be having lunch at BPP's cafe cartel but last minute he said wanna try cooking. So while waiting for Fu him to reach Lot1, I went to search for some cookbooks on making cakes and the likes. xl didn't know that when she called me, I was in the library already so I could easily borrow the books she wanted me to get. Dear came and helped me find books with pictures that would come to be useful.
We rented vcd and bought the ingredients and went to my home happily. He made chicken sausages mushroom sauce pasta... I liked the mushroom gravy which is very soupy but funny thing, the chicken sausages didn't go well with the mushroom taste so it's either you eat the sausages and don't touch the mushroom or the other way round. Haha...
After eating, we watched the Korean supposed blockbuster The Host. I thought it was about a mutated creature and couldn't figure out why the title. Well, the plot was about the ignorant Korean government who had assumed that the creature that had emerged killing(eating) the people was a host for a certain virus. So the government had this quarantine for those who came into contact with the creature... they were like thinking it's another SARS whatsoever.
Ok, so anyway the creature took away a little girl named Hyun Seo while hopping across the field near the river it resided in. Haha, I tell you the way it moved hopping around and jumping into the water was like so agile la. It was assumed that the girl was dead coz you know the creature supposedly swallow up people. But she didn't 'drown' and ended up in a big sewage drain where this disgusting creature actually kept its food. Yea, the people that were either swallowed or grabbed away with its long chameleon-like tail.
She found cellphones on the other bodies and called her father who was already being quarantined. Her whole family which consisted of her grandpa, her uncle and aunt were along those quarantined. Obviously the police and the doctors and nurses didn't believe the story of the whole family that the girl was alive la. So they said especially the father was being affected by the virus lor or he gone mad la.
But anyway this government was kinda lousy that the family managed to escape and went in search for the girl/creature. While trying to divert the creature's attention, the grandpa died because the rifle ran out of bullet just when he wanted to shoot it. Sadly, the creature grabbed him with the tail and bit him or something and it dived into the river. What the hell la... the creature was like can think one or what. The girl's father stupidly let himself be captured coz he couldn't leave his own father's body. The uncle and aunt then went separated ways into hiding.
The girl got company when a little boy who were orphans with his elder brother were taken back to the sewage by the creature. His brother died but he didn't. So the girl looked after the boy and told him that her grandpa who owned a provision shop would ensure that if they got out alive, the little boy wouldn't need to starve anymore. They had to fake dead whenever the creature came back. And there was a scene I remember so vividly I felt sick... They were hiding in a part of the drain where the creature didn't see them, and it just vomitted out I think its whole stomach of human bones la... walao! I don't understand the whole point of that scene lor. That scene onwards, the girl became determined to escape.
The uncle managed to find out the approximate location where the girl's last call was made. But he was hot on the heels by the police and he jumped down somewhere high and before he became unconscious, he smsed his sister(the aunt) to find the girl at a W. bridge which the river would flow to. The aunt, by the way was a national archer so she had along with her her equipment... Damn, she finally found the creature but was knocked into a opening in the wall big enough for her, too small for the creature and there she laid unconscious as well. zzz right?
On the other hand, it was dawn and the uncle was awake and he got the help of a wanderer who had with him many bottles of alcohol who followed him to the bridge. The girl's father managed to escape somehow and he too went to the bridge coz the aunt had awoken and called him... funny how this show progressed. But the twist was, Hyun Seo who managed to stay very alive for so much of the show got swallowed by the creature when it saw her and the little boy. The creature then decided to get on the river banks because there was a demonstration by the people who were against the government who wanted to spray 'Agent Yellow' on the river which was a very deadly chemical, said to be able to kill the creature.
Finally, the siblings(girl's father, uncle and aunt) were reunited at the bridge... and the creature came hopping onto the bridge lor. 'Agent Yellow' was released on the creature, don't know why so good aiming also... and it turned and tossed almost dead. The father saw the girl's hand protruding out of the creature's mouth so he went to pulled her out of the seemingly dying creature... out came Hyun Seo who was hugging the little boy. But it didn't die la! Stupid lor... The siblings were fuming with rage seeing the creature still alive. The uncle threw bottles of alcohol to which he lit with fire on the creature. The wanderer somehow went up to a higher region and poured a whole tub of alcohol which the creature happily drank. The uncle wasted the last bottle of burning alcohol when he fell down. Sian lor… haha but along came the aunt who stuck the burning cock with her arching equipment and it was a bullseye. The creature then tried to run towards the water… but the father pick up a metal pole and stuck it into the oncoming creature’s mouth. Black blood oozed out and finally it breathed its last…
But guess what? The father went over to the little boy and shaking him and asked if he knew her daughter and were they together… the little boy opened his eyes. The ending was just the little boy were taken in by the father lor… and they lived in the provision shophouse which had belonged to the grandpa along the river.

Yesterday was fun… beating and measuring and the whole baking fun~ though not made to professional standard but still happy that at least still quite presentable ba. We made sponge cake, Swiss roll, modified chocolate cake(the cocoa powder replaced with milo powder haha) and cheesecake. Tiring because we had to refer to the recipes and we only had one measuring cup for everything… Hmm, too bad the camera was in dad’s car so I couldn’t take the pics. But, collin and xl took some pics… Hope to get from them soon.
