For some random reasons, I finally got down to finding and watching 妖兽都市. I mentioned the film in my blog in January 2007. That's like another 3 years have since passed liao... if you consider the film was made in 1992 and I probably watched it in 1993 or 1994, then I really have some "feelings" for it lah hor lol.
Actually I was searching for some hong kong dramas to watch. I like HK period dramas, like Journey to the West, Condor Heroes, whatever whatever sword tale, whatever whatever vampirish tale, even scary strange tales of Liao Zhai. Then I came across My date with a Vampire 1-3 and I remembered papa didn't like me watch the drama last time when it aired on tv.
He always said "later you cannot sleep then you know." Lol, think that was in lower sec? So I could only watch in secret sometimes when he wasn't around; like he'd be in the living room and I'd watch in my parents' room hehe. So I never did understand how the characters turned evil la, or how come they travelled through time.
Maybe one day I will rewatch the whole thing. But for now, because of it I rememberd I haven't watch 妖兽都市. Googled and found that it's actually adapted from a japanese anime - The Wicked City. Think I won't go find the anime la cos wiki said it's a sexual thriller haha. And in my memory, I did see "a lot of tentacles" in the film. Oops.
I must say this film really is no big deal in present day, but in 1992 it could have been a real fantasy-supernatural-action movie (but still not suitable for children) haha.The film stars 黎明, 李若彤, 张学友, 李嘉欣 the ones we would know well even now. I actually found the name of the film 3 years ago cos I remembered got Leon Lai... lol. They were real young back then la.

PS: I've watched the anime too... eh quite pervertic haha. But I think not really classified as hentai also lah. Just that some concepts or scenes very meaningless... purposely make it sexual only. Err.... kinda disgusted now that I think of that terrible one scene x_x
I think the live action one still better, at least PG... if not NC16 lor. The
anime is like R21 lah.
