Favourite tutee :)
Tuesday, January 19, 2010

Meiyi gave me a birthday present last night when I went for tuition. I think it's really amazing how we have such an interesting relation. Haha, her letter is touching de lah cos she's my first student and we've been student-tutor for the 4th year now. She got me beautiful photo frame swing...

I had fun piecing the parts together and it makes me happy to see the swing swing~ when I knock against the table the frame will also swing by itself (cos it's not heavy/stable enough). It's a girly present, very much reminds me of being a girl her age lol. I need to find space in my room though... haha too much stuffs.

So anyway I decided to dedicate this entry to my favourite tutee Jessica Lau Meiyi ^^

Meiyi's 14th bday
Thursday, September 17, 2009

Right, this entry is on my tutee's birthday. She's celebrating her 14th birthday tomorrow. Gosh, 14 years old? Aw man... that's so 9 years ago. Sigh~ and I remember gera gave me a little card that says something like "You're 13 Oops, 14!" Something like that. I know I still kept it, it's just somewhere among my stuffs.

I'm so glad I still have the little memories, no matter good or bad to accompany me. Anyway at this age, I practially don't remember any of the bad ones already. Lol, sign of some self-delusion? Nah, should always think of good things mah... so they kinda drive me to lead my everyday life. Just like how the growing little attachments with some of the kids keep Ms Lim and I going at the centre.

Haha, being the cheapskate me who's so not shopping around =p Decided to handmake. Must be cos I just did one now long ago for gera lah. I don't have any pic, maybe should get gera snap one and send me. Ok, so I used whatever useful or recyclable thingies among my box file of craft papers and stuffs to make a card. I did the esay way out of gluing some wrapping paper over an unwanted foolscap cardboard cut into the size I wanted. Then pasting a smaller piece of black construction paper so I can write with those milky/silvery pens.

Geez, I went Daiso on monday right. Was I really glad I found something I thought quite "suitable". Lol, ok cheapskate again cos it's $2 each but serves the purpose mah and I don't have to go around looking lor. Cos I have no idea what a 14-year old (doesn't matter girl or boy) wants, and I don't remember a thing of what I wanted at that age either.

I got a 108-piece puzzle of a hamster and a frame to go with it. I pieced the puzzle together to see how it'll look after I got home haha, very bad hor. Anyway I decided to get it cos ok, I thought the pic on the packaging is cute and cos I would have gotten it for myself even if I'm not getting it for her haha...

But the deciding factor was that she owns hamsters too :) Giving it to her during tuition tonight.

Teachers' Day 2009
Friday, September 04, 2009

These are some of the presents I got for Teachers' Day. The first gift I got was from Yu Min, a little girl I kinda adore because she's mature for her age but still very child-like :) she gave me a pink flower like one of those in the pictures. Then, Nigel and Nicole gave all the teachers a Lock-Lock tupper ware, nicely wrapped and pasted with a photo of the two siblings. Nigel is one good natured P4 boy and very much one of the most obedient. The same goes to Nicole, whom I think will grow up to be a beautiful girl ;) their cousin, Miki gave us a photo display holder cum mirror set. Miki always has her hair tied up in two small pony tails.. like mickey/minnie mouse really.

The supervisor gave Miss Lim and I got a day off on 31st Aug and the centre was closed on 1st Sep so we didn't get to celebrate teachers' day together with the kids (because Mr Tan was gonna be around). When we went back on 2nd Sep, we received some of the belated presents from the children :) Thanks children~~ Eunice and Weiqi gave me a pink and purple flowers respectively and Eunice even packed along some small goodies -- a red pen, notebook and sticky pad. The sisters; Xin Yu and Si Yu gave me a clothes peg specially decorated. I had tuition with Meiyi on 1st Sep and she gave me a handmade card. I've already tutored her for 2 and a half years, so when she is sec 3 it will be our 4th year. Wow!
